Certified Teacher

Reports to:  Building Principal

 

SUMMARY

Creates and delivers engaging lessons to diverse groups of students at all levels. Promotes enthusiasm for learning and for subjects. Adheres to curriculum standards. Collects and reports on correct and detailed records of student performance. Maintains classroom order.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develops lesson plans which meet established school and national curriculum models
• Adapts and reassesses lesson plans to meet specific student needs, comply with newly implemented guidelines or rules, and to update relevant information and include new developments in education
• Manages the diverse ability levels of students
• Adapts curriculum to fit student needs while maintaining overall class progress
• Possesses and continually develops working knowledge of national curriculum programmers and frameworks
• Assesses and records student development, while identifying problem areas and areas which need attention and improvement
• Provides a safe, positive learning environment for students
• Maintain confidentiality of all information concerning students, staff, or parent/guarding in any public setting and choose the appropriate time, place and supervisor to address student/teacher related issue
• Communicates with any and all other staff members who engage with students
• Communicates with parents as per school guidelines on a regular basis, including presenting student progress reports and information parents of requisite student discipline
• Maintains order and discipline among students while promoting safety and compliance with school rules and guideline
• Attends occasional continuing education seminars
• Attends and takes part in school meetings on curriculum, organization, and guidelines

QUALIFICATIONS

 

• Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree

 

• Interpersonal Skills: Friendly and good at establishing quick rapport with students and staff, ability to remember names
• Computer Skills: Must be able to learn and use different district programs such as but not limited to, AESOP, G - suite for education, chromebook applications, smart boards, smart TV.

 

• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Holds current certification through PTSB. Maintain certification during employment at all times.

 

SALARY AND BENEFITS

• This is a full-time position with benefits.  Salary will be based on the district Certified Teacher Salary Schedule and determined upon experience.
